SPIT HAPPENS.

How Does SALVA Work?

1. One bottle, Two sides

One side holds your water. The other is a sealed compartment for saliva, with “DO NOT DRINK” built right into its lid, so there’s never a mix-up.

2. Flip and Go

Need to spit? Flip up the lid on the saliva side. Need a drink? Flip up the straw.

3. Down the straw, Out of sight
A 316 stainless steel straw carries saliva straight down into the bottom compartment, so you never see it.

4. Empty and Rinse when you’re ready
After your workout, meeting, or event, empty the compartment and rinse it out. No more getting up every five minutes or using a million tissues.

Daniela Ibarra Hernandez

Founder, CEO SALVA Innovations LLC.

First-gen CU Denver student who invented SALVA because I had the need myself. With heavy mucus, I needed to spit. But while running at the gym, I found no clean, discreet solution, so I used my empty water bottle. I have taken the company from that personal experience through non-provisional patent filing, utility filing, customer validation, and active manufacturing and design engagements.

  • "Most Innovative" at the TechUp Incubator, Summer 2025

  • Capital raised via SAFE through CU Foundation.

  • The company holds active institutional support from the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship.
